Forward

I've been pondering something for some time, really it commenced to bug me early today while viewing the climate report.

On the radar, the metroplex was checked "DFW." But hold up a second, I assumed...that puts the D on the west side where Fort Worth is, and the FW over east by (yuck) Dallas.

So from here on out, on the off chance that I ever need to allude to the metroplex for any reason, I will be calling it the "FWD" territory. Not that I fundamentally need to recognize Dallas' presence oftenly, yet it happens. Who do Dallasites think they are, trying to overrule Geography itself!?

Along these lines, Fort Worth companions, help me let whatever remains of the world realize that West is Best. Begin calling our piece of Texas the "FWD" region. Assuredly by one year from now, we'll be flying places out of "FWD Global Airport." I like the way that its a distill of "forward" as well.Sort of works like a "forward, upward" rally let loose.

Bernard Charles "Bernie" Ecclestone

Bernard Charles "Bernie" Ecclestone (born 28 October 1930) is a British business tycoon. He is president and chief executive of Formula One Management and Formula One Administration and through his part-possession of Alpha Prema, the parent company of the Formula One Group of companies. As such, he is usually considered the chief authority in Formula One racing.

He is most frequently addressed in tabloid journalism as "F1 Supremo". His early participation in the sport was as a competitor and then as a manager of drivers Stuart Lewis-Evans and Jochen Rindt. In 1972, he procured the Brabham team, which he ran for fifteen years. As a team owner he became a member of the Formula One Constructors Association.

His control of the sport, which grew up from his pioneering the sale of television rights in the late 1970s, is primarily monetary, but under the terms of the Concorde Agreement he and his companies also run the administration, setup and logistics of each Formula One Grand Prix. Ecclestone entered two Grand Prix races as a driver, all through the 1958 season, but fell short to succeed for either of them.

Saturday's beer ride...

Saturday's beer ride...
The beer ride was a resounding success, and here are the photos to prove it:

We started with the traditional pre-ride lubrication ceremony...

then qeued up for the ride to Rahr.

Raced a train in Trinity Park...

then headed up 7th into downtown.

There's nothing like riding in a big group of cyclists downtown.

Finally, the Brewery! Hmmm... yeah, I'd tap that.

This is where the magic happens.

Here's Jason with the man behind the beer, Fritz Rahr (owner, brewmaster, bottler, AND delivery driver).

The brewery is awesome... you've got to check it out if you haven't already.

Also a good place to meet folks, like Mandi, Lindsay, and Aaron here.

These are only a few of the pictures, but all reports indicate that a good time was had. I'm thinking we need to do this again on the first Saturday of every month, so Jason and I can take turns going. Who's in?

The man known on local forums as DigitalRebel also took quite a few photos, including of the pub crawl afterward that went on all night. See those pictures here

Friday Night Ride

Come join us for a Friday night mountain bike ride along the Trinity Trail levees... Start is here at the shop at 7 p.m., so obviously lights will be necessary. We'll go somewhere afterward for food and drink. Frosty, frosty drink.
